About Chatham, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Chatham is a small, unincorporated community found in Chester County, Pennsylvania. It is part of London Grove Township and is located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Routes 41 and 841. Chatham is situated approximately 45 miles to the west of Philadelphia and 18 miles northwest of Wilmington, Delaware.

As an unincorporated community, Chatham is not home to any notable attractions, but fortunately for area visitors, there are several communities located nearby that do have interesting sites to see. Historic Kennett Square is home to a variety of great attractions, including Flickerwood Wine Cellars Tasting Room and McLimans Antiques. History enthusiasts may also enjoy a trip to nearby Chadds Ford, where they can visit the Christian C. Sanderson Museum and the Brandywine Battlefield.

Chatham’s close proximity to Wilmington, Delaware also provides numerous other cultural opportunities to visitors and residents. Wilmington is home to several music festivals, including the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, and the Riverfront Blues Festival. There are also numerous ethnic festivals in the community, including an Italian Festival in June and Greek and Polish festivals held at later dates throughout the year.

Chatham residents will experience a variety of unique weather conditions throughout the year, with weather extremes occurring in the summer and winter months. Summers are hot with high humidity, and high temperatures often reach the mid-80s in July and August. A properly functioning air conditioner is essential to stay cool throughout these stiflingly hot months, and it is recommended that residents have their units serviced in the spring to ensure optimal efficiency.

Winters in Chatham are characterized by cool to cold temperatures and moderate snowfall. Overnight lows generally fall below the freezing point, and when coupled with winter precipitation, this can result in icy roadways and other hazards. An energy-efficient heat pump or furnace can keep interior temperatures comfortable while also preventing plumbing and pipes from freezing.
